Bunbury-Harvey Regional Council Standing Orders Local Law 2017
In accordance with s3.12(6) of the Local Government Act 1995 the Bunbury-Harvey Regional Council gives notice that on Wednesday 10 May 2017 the Bunbury-Harvey Regional Council Standing Orders Local Law 2017 was published in the WA Government Gazette:
Title: The Bunbury-Harvey Regional Council Standing Orders Local Law 2017
Purpose: This local law provides rules which apply to the conduct of meetings of the Council and its committees and all meetings are to be conducted in accordance with the Act, the Regulations and this local law.
The effect of this local law is to manage:
- Better decision-making by the Council;
- Orderly and efficient conduct of meeting dealing with Council business;
- Greater community participation and understanding of the business of the Council; and
- More open and accountable local government.
In accordance with s3.14(1) of the Local Government Act 1995, the Standing Orders Local Law 2017 will come into operation on the 14th day after the day of publication in the WA Government Gazette which will commence on Wednesday 24 May 2017.
